I noticed that you paid an extra 10% as a credit card fee. From what I understand, it is now illegal for any business in Australia to slug customers with excessive surcharges for using EFTPOS and credit cards to pay for purchases. This came into affect from 1 September 2017 so your fee would not have come into play in terms of this legislation because it was before this date. However, if you use it again I would suggest you advise the supplier that they are charging an illegal fee and can be referred to the ACC. I am sure you will get a reduced fee when you mention that

That's right Bartok .... and as a consequence the $150 joints are starting to raise to $160 (142 Hornsby etc) . So in essence we all get to pay for those who don't pay cash ... be careful what you wish for

This is relative as you know that utilities have risen and the cost of “living” as we know it also has relative to wages growth........ so it is probably a given unless the shops can “absorb” the running costs?......
